This course provides students with the opportunity to learn about music from the 7th-20th Centuries highlighting the development and history of music within a cultural and social context.  Students will explore various ways in which music from Antiquity, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and  Romantic Periods continue to influence contemporary artists as well as provide examples of how this music continues to thrive for current consumers and performers.
